My first efforts at making money online began some 20 years ago. It was a sideline as I was working in the marine industry teaching sailing and carrying out yacht delivery work.
I love being outdoors and on the water but realised sooner or later I would have to spend more time indoors rather than outside in the winter in the wet and cold.
I began to dabble with various work at home products being sold on the Internet. None of these were successful as either I did not follow them through properly or they were worthless scams and not worth the money spent on them.
My next move was to join a site building program. I persisted with this for some considerable time, built a website, but found that the system did not produce the results promised. One of the reasons was that they encouraged me to use a niche that I was enthusiastic and knowledgable about rather than one that had sufficient following and traffic to produce results.
I shall be posting more details of my progress in Internet marketing in the next posts but if you would like to jump ahead to how I am moving on please click here
See you next week. Edmund

Hi Edmund, I trust you are well and healthy.
From my side, a good start and shoot for the stars. Gives me enthusiasm to get mine going. I am totally new to web sites, blogs etc. but am learning and will soon put mine up.
One small negative, if I may, I requested my Iceberg book a month ago and have still not received it. Am talking to support and hopefully will get it soon. Was it a good read?
Have an excellent day and catch some fish.
Rob
Hi Rob. Sorry to hear about the non-delivery however sure it will come if you are chasing them.Mine came within a few days. Yes it is a good read and if followed gives one a real sense of direction and what to do next. All the best Edmund
It sounds like a similar journey to many people getting into online marketing, myself included.
I too love the sea & would love to live near it!
Glad to see you’re still striving.
Look forward to learning more of your experiences…
It’s always enlightening to hear about the journey others have taken in the world of online entrepreneurship, especially when it spans over two decades!
Your experience with various work-at-home schemes and the lessons learned from investing in non-viable products and systems highlight a common pitfall many encounter in the early stages of online entrepreneurship. The insight about choosing a niche based not only on personal passion but also on its marketability and potential to attract sufficient traffic is invaluable for anyone looking to establish a presence online.
I’m intrigued to follow your journey further and learn how you navigated these challenges to find your footing in internet marketing. Looking forward to your next post!
Thank you for your reply. I am following the affiliate system with enthusiasm and hopefully will be able to Post good progress.
As Tony said, the stories of online so called failures are fascinating to read. Yet these build the foundations for what is yet to come=freedom of mind body and spirit! I started on line ventures in 2006 by joining all the social media sites, had blog after blog, podcasts, wrote articles. I had a best selling book on Amazon for awhile. Now I’m ready to harness all the things and keep moving forward!!
thank you for your comments. I will post some more of my trials and tribulations as a result.
Teaching sailing sounds like such a blast, and I’m sure you had a great time with it! However, I totally get that as we get older, spending time in the cold and wet isn’t as appealing. I haven’t been at the online affiliate marketing game for too long, but I can totally relate to the challenges you mentioned. Excited to follow your journey and looking forward to your next post!

I’m sorry to hear you had some bad experiences. That seems to be so common in the realm on online marketing.
I hope you have much better success in future!
Excited to watch your business grow!
